I Remember the Oj Simpson Verdict

I did not follow the trial. I assumed he would be found guilty. When the verdict was announced, I was in the Student Union at a major university, watching the TV along with a few hundred college students. When the verdict was read, many of the students cheered. I was unprepared for how angry I was. I am angry to this day.

Our systems always favor the defendant and it was designed that way on purpose, feeling that it is better for one guilty man to go free than for even one innocent my to be punished. Yet innocent men go to prison daily. The burden of proof is on the prosecution, all the defense has to do is create doubt.

@lasergraph I find that so scary to realize how many innocent people are in prison?!😞
