I Lack A Close Relationship With My Father
My story:
I didn't know my father until I was 26, because he gave up my sibling and I. It was bliss for several years getting to know him. The past ten years or so we have maintained contact but are not as close as when I first met him.
He forgets my birthday every year. Ok so be it. I did the same to him this year, completely on accident and tried to contact him the day after. I've been trying to reach him for 3 months to no avail. My sibling is in constant contact with him and says he's fine.
How is a person supposed to get over this kind of rejection, not once, but twice? I don't have any idea anymore and have no idea what I did to upset him. I apologized for his birthday and sent a card but got no response.
This kind of pain lasts a lifetime.
