Is college the new kindergarten?

I graduated from college two years ago and already it seems very different from when I went.

"SJWs" have taken over campuses, and in cases like Evergreen state, mobs of angry black students scream at professors and corner them just for expressing their opinion (and the professors are already very liberal themselves!)

Do you expect to be "protected" from opinions you don't like in college?

They may be "safe" from opinions and facts they don't like while in college but they're in for a rude awakening once they get out in the real world. They're gonna find out that most people don't give a fuck what they think or want.
No I don't expect to be protected from unfavourable opinions. And neither should the professors, which leaves a logical flaw in your post.

@LukeOnTheBrightSide: Believe me, I'm not right wing. I've considered myself liberal for a long time. But these students are going too far and I think it's important for liberals like me to differentiate themselves from people who are essentially extremists. I agree that labels like "snowflake" shut down debate, but so do labels like "racist" when used inaccurately.
@RileyPancake: good argument, well made.
@RileyPancake:

I only recently found out what this meant!!

Worse. Kindergarten children are simply young and innocent. They don't hate anyone. They have to be taught to hate. What's happening on college campuses is the result of rage, a sense of entitlement, and hate.

Evergreen state appears to be the worst college of all times. I have not heard ONE positive thing from that shithole :D
Uhmmm my wife is a college professor and no such thing has ever happened.

No college around here would tolerate that. Maybe that ones a dud.

@Flenflyys: The more I read about it, the more I realize that is true.

what the hell type of college you go to?

@badazzbasicbich: I went to UCLA and I never encountered anything like this.

But it's not limited to Evergreen State. Remember the Yale incident with the Halloween costumes? If this kind of thing can happen at an Ivy League, it can happen anywhere.

I find that mean honestly. They're college students, they should be mature enough to not do that kind of stuff by now. They know that people have different opinions. If it isn't harmful/offensive then I don't see the need to be protected from opinions.
