Am I right or am I right?

As someone with disabilities and a Bachelors Degree in Education -major of Special Ed, I agree, there needs to be changes made. It's systemic, though. Education won't make a difference unless we start addressing poverty ad related issues. As much as I don't want to admit it, yes, people do feel overly entitled. That crosses socio economic levels. Those on poorer areas often say "I need it-those other people won't miss it" For upper levels, it seems to be more of a "I'm special" attitude,

We also need to quit pointing fingers and start teaching what people need. We never know what goes on behind closed doors. Everyone has some battle to fight. This does not excuse abuse or neglect. Nor is it meant to condone the victim mentality. Rather, it's about seeing people, doing their best to survive, the only way they know how. I have no problem helping with what "parents should do." I am not having a heart attack because a student told me to go bleep myself. Teachable moments, logical consequences, high-but-reachable expectations.

School achievement ties into the above paragraphs, Yes, we need to keep people accountable. But, if you are say fifteen years old and care for your siblings, because your parent can't- what is your priority-geography quizzes and standardized tests or earning money for food?

I'm working toward my license, so take my observations for what you will.

I think Australia and the US and other countries could take a good look at places like Germany and learn a whole lot from them. Germany has a great "success" attitude and strives to be great at most everything it does. The brlliant thing about Germany is it has free tertiary education and if you aren't going to do that then you'll attend a trades school. It's the attitude of the country that you are expected to do well in whatever you do that sets it apart from a lot of Western world countries.

Are professors too young in the 21st C? In my days they all had grey hair.

Lack of morale is low at a good many jobs, people feel they are in a dead end job without much hope for getting ahead. Cut back their work hours and then they have to try to find another job to make ends meet and it's probably gonna be another part-time job that they have to juggle hours with.

Kids are will most likely want to succeed if they are in a good environment. I think that starts at home.

If we were to fix the morals, where would we get the standards from?
