What does it mean when a close friend is not willing to speak about his family? Like that's almost a no go area.

Is that a red flag or something to be worried about? I usually see this tendency in my male friends. Female friends are happy to speak about whatever questions I have about their family.

That means they don't want to talk about it. Constant pressuring on the subject will do nothing but harm (or end) your relationship
