The difference between pansexual and Bi?

I just don't get it.. It seems the same to me.

PS:pure educational purposes.

I consider myself pansexual because I would be open to the idea of sex/romance with an alien or other non human that is a sapient being capable of consent and of respecting my boundaries (stopping if I say to stop instead of just fucking me anyway).

@Doomflower now I see.. The difference is that you are open to other sapient species..

Thank you 😊

honestly as someone who is bisexual but used to (very briefly at age 15) identify as pansexual, i have no clue😂
i know the generic definition that bisexual people are attracted to male and females while pansexuals are attracted to all genders but that just seems silly to me especially when no one knows what the hell pansexual means

@poisonouscupcake a recent friend explained to me that the difference is that pansexual are oppend to other sapient species.. Male and female and aliens I suppose or another sapient sort of being with dick I guess 😅

My understanding is bi sexuals are attracted to males and females where as pansexuals are attracted to the person regardless of their gender identity as there are many more these days than just male and female.

Most bi are pan but it's easier to explain bi. Bi formally means attracted to men and women whereas pan means all genders or sexes are preferred.
Bi-sexual is when someones bed partner can be either a man or a woman. Pan-sexual means their bed partner can be any metallic cooking pot.
one wants to feel extra special?.
