Do you consider this offensive?

I was in bed and having a conversation with my fiance, I mentioned how he is very helpful and out of the blue he said I was a 100 times more nicer to my ex! Wow how petty how could he take away such a lovely sentiment. Why would he say such a thing would you slap him of you were in my place?

Sounds like he's a little insecure. I think the best thing to do is ask him about it and why he feels that way, just re-assure him about it. If it continues after that then its a problem he has to work through, and i say this because it probably just comes from a wound that person has from their past. We don't always behave in the way we wish we could, you're in your right to be annoyed (i would be too) but sometimes it takes a person you love to show you those faults in yourself. I wouldn't slap him, but I would take it as maybe a warning sign... Someone below has already said he sounds insecure, I'd agree with that... He maybe one of those people who need constant attention ...
