Research about what happened to the Osage Indians in Oklahoma after they found oil on their land. That would be a good topic to present, there is a movie being made about it. The Osage were rich like the Qataris are today, they were the richest group of people in the world.

Oh, I feel for you, sad... I don't think I like history because "I'm smart", maybe I was lucky that when I was a kid, my dad would *explain* things to me so it all made sense... People hate subjects they don't understand (math, languages, etc) and they don't see a point to it... But then when you start to "get" how things relate, how events and people affect the world we live in, it becomes interesting... History it's just a long, complicated human drama... It's not about years, dates, battles, kings or president names... It's about people's dreams and fears, their flaws, virtues, all spiced with good luck or bad luck... if you look at it that way it becomes interesting...

Ancient civilisations are always fun to work on. Why not focus on the wonders of the ancient world?
