The First Kiss


Awkward silence, nervous conversation as my heart raced in anticipation.
A magnetic pull so powerful I could not resist.
Soft, innocent smile that melted my heart.
The soft smell of your perfume weakened my knees.

Warm embrace an eternity old, yet new like a day old foal,
As I took you in my arms the world around me dimmed.
The light from your warm touch was all I could see.
As our lips touched the fire in my heart awakened.
