I Want To Get Far, Far Away From Civilization
Life is no F'n picnic. I am reminded of that more & more every day. Unfair, uncertain, and unsettling...that's what we deal with constantly. Yet as bad as life is, we don't need to make it worse by treating each other like machines, expected to conform, obey, work, and keep quiet. We shouldn't just look at each other as "what can he do for me" or "how can I make money off him?"
Why is America obsessed with consumerism? Why do we all have to be constantly marketed to but never just friended?
When was the last time you saw a stranger or randomly met someone and thought, " That guy seems like he has something really interesting to share, or I bet that guy has a unique personality or "He seems like an honest guy, why not give him a break this once?
How come Handshakes arent good enough, spoken promises arent good enough, photo ID isnt good enough, hell even resumes aren't even enough.
Instead, everything is just a process, or the same run a round rig a ma role, pay your dues, stand in line, fill out this paper work, call all these numbers, go here go there,run a background check, prove your healthy, send in a report, prove your not healthy, beg and plead, pay for this pay for that and pay for the other...
That's all this world is. That's all society has become.
This society that doesn't trust anyone and is never willing to just take a chance on anything, or give an opportunity to someone that needs or deserves it. what a waste we are as a civilization.
wishing people would change, wishing society would change, it becomes so very exhausting and hopeless. No wonder suicide is at an all time high.
