Its about 12years however it's dependent on lots of things: the maturity of the child, are they able to access help if needed, do they know important phone numbers they can call,do they have the basics such as food/water, is that child responsible for younger siblings, and how long will the child be alone for.

Depends on the child and the dangers.

My dad (frustrated with me doubling his time to do a Saturday morning grocery run), decided that 6 year old me was old enough to stay by myself with some rules, as 19/20 times, I'd be in the exact same spot, still watching cartoons from when he left to when he got back.

Rules included,
1) doors locked at all times
2) No unlocking the doors unless playing with a well known friend, and not allowed to unlock the door if they have an unknown person or adult with them
3) No trying to cook, or play with matches (I didn't do that at all anyways at that age, if anything I'm grabbing the "hidden" candy or quick treats.
4) No telling Mom (Law said kids couldn't be left alone until 13 years old, Dad trusted me, Mom wants to follow the law no matter what.)

In my state, there is no legal minimum age per se. However, if the kid is under 18 and screws up, the parents are responsible.

Kind of how it is really. I know 21 year olds who probably shouldn't be left home alone.
Depends on the kids 🤷

My 11 yo twins are allowed to stay home for a couple hours at a time. They are good kids, they don't get into trouble, they are helpful, and they don't lie.

Was left alone at 12. No serious problems yet probably would have been better if I wasn't. Could have had some serious problems happen. Much just was never found out. Yes I was a wild child.
Depends on the circumstances and the kid. Any child left alone should have a list of people to call if they need help (and those people should know about it).

I'd say 10, if it will be a short time before the parent's return (an hour).

For half a day, 12.

I’d say about 12. At that age I would watch over my younger sisters with no issues ~

Depends on the kid. 10-12 maybe?

Technically any age..but responsibly it depends on the child, the circumstances, who they have contact with if needed. There are some members on this site I wouldn't want left alone
