I Still Have Hope

Due to health issues and my wife not really believing how much pain I was in
(but at the time no one else did either )
I ended up homeless and living on the streets .
Not everyone you see living on the streets are there just because they are pan handling drunks .
Christ said "when you have done for the the least of one of these you have done for me also "
So some are just wino's and drunks that don't mind being homeless and panhandle for the bottle and then a place to crash ,Here is a guy who even though he was homeless ,he was still trying to help out others ,,you never know
I still have hopes for humanity [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v07yMNXWJlc]

@FelixLegion It is a real shame when men and women who served their country can't get help .
I was turned down for food stamps because I was still legally married ( North Carolina makes you wait one year from when you apply for divorce )
So because my wife made so much money they would not help me .
Christian service center said they only help 1 time in 6 months like some peanut butter and stale Rice Krispies and powder milk was going to help more then a few days .
Church's even turned me away saying they contributed to the service center ,
The shelter only let you stay there 21 days and my right arm was useless ,a spur in the cup had it almost paralyzed ,
the doctors finally found the problem after my wife left and I lost everything ,but they are also the ones who told my wife nothing was wrong with me and they refereed me to a shrink and vocational rehabilitation ,(they train the disabled to work but its not a job )
I was awarded my disability in August 1994 ,but they did not pay me a dime until November 1995 ,,after I lost my home .It was paid for but my wife wanted me out and I was tired of fighting ,she sold it and my car .(never put everything in your wifes name ,yes I could have got 1/2 of everything but I was tired of fighting ,no one believed me about how much pain I was in ,,I felt like whats the use ,,,they all know I am not sorry ,why is everyone treating me like this .?)
Social Security was holding my pay until they could verify I did not owe them back for any SSI or back Child Support or Student Loans ,,they wanted their money off the top but they had turned me down for any help ,,I owed them nothing .
My wife was worn out trying to pay everything alone I get that ,
I had gone through back surgery in 1990 so we had struggled every since then .
So it was not due to me being sorry or worthless I ended up there ,it was all over health issues .
But Vets kill themselves at an amazing rate .
Waiting on medical treatment ,Service connection is not a given .
So I just wanted to share ,not all homeless people are drunks and drug addicts
Some were hard working people who just had a turn of bad luck and they had no clue where to go from there .especially when no one shows them any respect .
Sorry you went through it too Brother ,
No one who served their country should be turned away for help and have to see people pull up to the food stamp office in fine cars with cell phones smacking their gum being all loud on their phones getting services
and the Vet can't afford to eat and has no where to sleep
