I Think Some of the Rap Songs of Today Are Stupid

@SatanBurger I have very mixed emotions when it comes to rap.
Good wordsmiths abound and coupled with enticing beats it's a potent force.
But we've seen an increasing commodification and the inevitable dumbing down of message in mainstream product.I would not have guessed it to become such a huge industry.Money talks.

I hated NWA when they stormed the scene-but came to adore them after a while.
But stuff like last poets,public enemy and KRS-1 changed my world.
I listen to plenty of lame party-starters too,whaddoo I even know,really.

@SatanBurger I called it that, too..when I hear it on radio, I switch stations.

@dubkebab most of them are tho..words like muthafucka..I never liked rap..not music to me!

But there are plenty of great artists and poets who do well with the form.
I am a fan of a small percentage of the overall scene.
Most commercial or popular music bores or irritates me.
It's wonderful to have such a wide variety of choices.
