iPhones and iPads are programmed to sometimes slightly misread your touch so that it increases the chances of you clicking on a video or an advert? That’s why video recommendations and other posts are shown for so long until your device forces you to click. Once it’s been clicked, the money is made and it never appears again.

@Elessar the technology is far more advanced than that. The device knows whether your typing or on Facebook or YouTube

@NestChicken I know, just jk. Detecting if the keyboard is open is a single line of code, at least on the tooling I use.

@Elessar sometimes the device freezes up and then loads an advert you don’t want to see. It basically forces you to see it

@NestChicken At least on Android, you can patch the /etc/hosts file so you don't get any ads anymore in any app. ✌️
