I'm not entirely convinced myself.
Some folks results (if you believe the videos) don't make a lot of sense.
Several generations born in one country yet 8% of their DNA is supposedly Maori !???

@SW-User I just think it's the ideal scam IF you intend to try and sell 'follow up' products at a later date.
Years ago before all this DNA malarkey came about. I tried researching the family name.
Simple enough place to start, right ?
I found three different explanations from three different companies all willing to expand on their answer.......for a fee !
Hmmmm!

@Picklebobble2 Yes I could lean either way on this. I'm fourth generation Australian and my great great grand parents came from Sweden and Ireland, so I'm not sure how I got 7% native american, but I guess it's possible. But I also agree that there are many scams out there, although in my case I was never approached with further products.

I did one a couple of years ago and I was really surprised. I thought I'd be English/Irish etc but I'm mostly scandinavian with a small percentage of native american... there's definitely some things missing from my family tree :O
which one? I have a 23 and me kit I still need to do and send in.

@AcidBurn AncestoryDNA. I originally purchased the 23andme, but canceled after researching a bit more.
@originalGOS I want to do both and see how they compare. It should be an interesting experiment.

I find it interesting, hope to do mine someday. I just have word of mouth and tracing ancestors back

@SW-User Same here, that's why I bought it. I come from a big family largely made up of step/half family members. I want to actually know more about my biological family lol
