Am I an idiot for drinking half a litre of vodka in one night?

Like, at the time I spaced drinking it over about 5 hours but... Still.. That's like 20 units in under 1 day.. Volume is 37.5% if that means anything.... All I know is I'm gonna be saying goodbye to my liver soon. ┴┬┴┤•ᴥ •ʔ/

Please take this in the spirit it's intended...

You have the chance and time to stop.

By the time I was 27 I knew I had a serious problem with the booze. But I denied it, lied to everyone including myself about amount, why I drank, that I could stop if I wanted to etc. By then I was not drinking in lent to show people I wasn't an alcoholic. Every Easter I was wrecked and ruined it for my family. I soon gave up that stupid charade.

Fast forward... I'm 40 and decide I'll cut down, drink just 20 units a week. Couldn't do it. I stopped for like 6 weeks. See! Started again... Soon out of control. Stop. Start. Control. Fail. Stand on cliff wanting to throw myself off. Finally cave in and go off to rehab. 16 years sober now but I have to work at staying sober every day.

Buddy - don't let your life be a replay of mine. Go well.

@SW-User Thank you for this comment, my man... I've been thinking about it for the past few days and.... Yeah your experience has really pushed me to make it less regular... My parents dealt with kind of the same thing but... Eh, that was too frequent for me to care about so eh... Didn't pay much attention to it, YOUR WORDS HAVE VALE IN MYYYYYYYY HEART!! ┬┴┬┴┤•ᴥ •ʔ/
