I Love Jim Morrison

Pere Lachaise... I had the opportunity to visit Jim Morrison's grave a couple of weeks ago. As many diehard fans know, he is buried in Paris. The bust on his headstone was stolen many years ago. I am sorry to say that the cemetery has placed steel barricades around his grave so no one could get near. He is buried in section 30 with very little room. it is very obvious that he is not wanted in Paris..The tour books and the cemetery are bothered with is presence, I am am hoping I can share the picture i took.

If you read closely, his grave reads:

KATA TON DAIMINA EAYTOY or True to His Own Spirit in Greek..may he rest in peace.

akindheart - A Kind Heart indeed -- I was due to travel to Paris in the Spring of 2008 but got very very sick and needless to say my travel days are over - But, am a HUGE DOORS fan, even have an Uncle named Jim Morrison on my wife's side, actually there was a cousin Jim Morrison and her grandfather's name was Jim Morrison. The later two could drink booze unlike anything you can even imagine - Yikes !! Here is a link you may enjoy --

we were there in April, and a young lady climbed over the little fence, drank from a small flask and spilled some on his monument, and dropped a flower...I was impressed, he died long before this girls was born and his music and life still touches people...
