I Could Live Without Cable Tv

Do you think there are too many television channels on cable? Also, if you had to choose just three channels to watch for the rest of your life, which ones would you choose?

I only watch about 3-5 channels as it is right now...science, history, nat geo, discovery,IFC

Have they created a law and order channel by now?
Yes, but you can add or subtract channels and packages, depending on what you want to pay. I also have Netflix--the wifi feed which you can watch on television. Several years ago we bought a 60 " television, great for watching movies and sports. And we have the dish "hopper", so we can watch and record multiple programs at once...

Not only could I live without cable. I do. Don't have satellite TV either. Just and outside antenna. I think I need to replace my digital converter as my TV keeps cutting out from time to time. When that happens I watch a DVD, or turn it off and just read.

Life was like that before the cable in the 80s and the three choices were ABC CBS and NBC

@CereBellum: Norman Lear helped that.
Ah yes. All in the Family. Great show that broke all the barriers way back then.

Lived on a sailboat and didn't have TV at all for almost 15 years. Didn't miss it. If I had to choose three channels, then Discovery, The Food Network and Turner Classic Movies.
