I Am Not Where I Wanted to Be At This Age

At 28, the vast majority are ahead of me. I'm still drifting.

I have come to the conclusion that there is no time line with life. Who says you should go to school, college, university, marry, have children and settle?! Life is what we make of it, there is no right or wrong way. It isn't a race so drift as you please, take in the scenery and just live.

@AutumnxRayne: I've heard that so many times, whilst I don't think it's wrong, it's starting to sound repetitive and frustrating to me, like it's wrong for me to feel this way.
SugarRush · 31-35, F
@electropura: I wouldn't say wrong but maybe you should be thinking along the lines of "grass isn't always greener". Sure it's frustrating but it is you're life and only you can change the paths you lead.

Some of the best people I've ever met didnt have a clue at 28 or 38 or 48 !
When the time comes, you'll know.
electropura · 31-35, M
@Picklebobble2: I hope so.
WeekendWarrior4 · 46-50, M
Drift on my good man, just be sure you are happy as you float!
electropura · 31-35, M
@WeekendWarrior4: There are times when it's okay and I don't mind it so much But when you hear about other people's success, even if it's not quite as they say, it's demoralising.
WeekendWarrior4 · 46-50, M
@electropura: It is only demoralizing if you let it be. You can be happy for them without let their victory tear down your walls.

[c=#002673]Just be you, even if you are still drifting. You'll get where you're supposed to be when you need to. Don't rush anything. It'll come to you. [/c]

It sometimes takes a while to decide what you truly want to do in life.

@Rannoch: I've known for years. But I've never had good fortune or the chances.

@DropsOfPain: They just seem ahead and 'normal'. I've not really done anything exciting and have great memories. I've just aimlessly gone through the motions.

This reminds me of the rabbit and tortoise. Slow and steady wins the race of life.
