Intimacy is far from basic 'sex'; this is so true. It goes much deeper and, in fact, into the realms of being Spiritual. Not everyone would agree, but that would depend on how each person might define intimacy, or, if they even become intimate. Maybe there are those who have never been intimate who don't even know it? Fantasies fall into intimacy nicely, when both are pleasing each other rather than themselves alone

@SW-User It is sexual in nature or at least it isn't uncommon for those feelings to be filtered through a sexual lens or to also induce sexual urges. I would say there are those who can be inmate but not sexual, those that can't differentiate between the two and then everyone else in-between who attach some varying level of sexual arousal from the act of intimacy.
