I managed to procure a lighter.

I asked around if anyone had a spare and a guy a few doors down gave me one. The not so good news is I yawned and my mouth tasted like blood. That was odd. However the lighter outweighs that slight issue.

If you have not lighter and no matches, you can use potassium permanganate (KMnO4) and glycerine, both are available in drugstores and pharmacies.
Place ~2 g KMnO4 on a piece of broken china and drip some drops of glycerine on it. After some 10 seconds or so a very hot flame will appear, almost like a welding flame. Be careful and wear safety goggles please.
