I Enjoy Washing Dishes By Hand

I don't mind washing dishes by hand which is a good thing I guess because I do it a lot. We have a dishwasher but for some reason my stepmom only ever uses it when we have lots of dishes to do, like when we have company or a dinner party or something. I am not sure what she is saving it for.

I opted out of having a dishwasher installed when we renovated our kitchen. I like to do the dishes myself. I feel like I clean better than a machine.

@livingaloha I had to hand wash for a long time. My new house has a dishwasher, and you can bet I use it when I have a lot of dishes. Actually, a dishwasher uses such high heat, that it sanitizes dishes, something we can't really do when hand washing. But, I also use paper plates for certain foods. Hard to get out of that habit, LOL

@Xena1234 Yeah, I'm sure dishwashers do a great job and comes in handy for big jobs. But I like taking my time and talking while my daughters clear the table and help rinse.

@livingaloha Myself and my sister had to do the dishes every night for seven people while growing up. My father would be an SOB at times, and make us wash every dish in the house - even the ones that were not dirty - if we left a spot on a dish. It has always been my least favorite chore. I can hand wash if I have to, just don't like to.
