I Hate the Holidays

Not "hate" per se, I just kinda become a scrooge when days like this hit, before I got tired of commercial stuff in general, but now when it comes down to it just seeing people act nice on these short days of the year and not the rest of the 365, I just detest that idea in more ways than one and just.. kinda wake up in a shitty mood nkt wanting to go near anyone lol. I don't necessarily celebrate nor do I wish for anyone to stop, some people have their reasons but the bigger majority just do it for the wrong reasons and It's like a defense mechanism for myself to keep away, especially from friends and family lol. I do however hope everyone has a blessed day.

I feel similar, just another ordinary day; celebrations have all but gone from me in many aspects

Yeah, and when friends and family know I don't celebrate via my religion or just in general I find myself having to repeat myself making me a "buzzkill" for them which is 100% unnecessary and just gives me a pet peeve lol. Birthdays? I take a small walk, and grab coffee. I used to have parties but it came to a point in my life as well where that just really can't be a thing for me.

If someone says happy whatever to me, I'll respond back, sure. Just do not expect me to fully cooperate lol

You dislike comcercialism and over materialistic expectations that come with it essentially.

There is always a new way to experience anything. I love playing in snow and then relaxing inside. There was not as much so I supose that is something I personally like and miss about the winter ones. Sometimes I feel more connected to another holiday while one is currently going on. Like thanksgiving starting off christmas season. Both are gatherings and both can be loving.
RontheBeast · 26-30, M
That's a given, and I can enjoy that all the same with people I trust, but that's the weather and as of late these current years the weather hasn't really been aligning with the holidays like christmas for example, at least in new york in that sense, I love being childish and having fun nonetheless and keeping positive. But not when it's consistently shoved in my face that I should be even more cheerful on a particular day than every other day lol, I want to cherish not force happy moments, but I guess people experience it differently than me.

You want to experience it naturally and not feel obligated to be anyones puppet. @CasperOmiSam

so celebrate the way YOU want.. don't whine to everyone how it's been ruined for you because of.
RontheBeast · 26-30, M
I literally mentioned I keep away from people and just stick to myself and enjoy for the separate reasons of my own, has nothing to do with whining.
SabrinaKinkle · 26-30, F
I think it came out rude form your perspective @CasperOmiSam, but what he is saying is true in a sense. You can adapt it around your preference. Passivly live out your own way. It is okay to express less of a liking as well though. You can express, reflect, ressolve. :) That is how most things go.
RontheBeast · 26-30, M
Yeah, but to say I'm whining toward everyone when the perspective is just being explained is a bit much and unnecessary.
