I Hate the Holidays

This is not the Hallmark Channel. Real life does not mirror a festive family gathering, with the perfect tree taking center stage. Gifts piled high to the ceiling, dazzling bows and dizzying lights. Mom and dad smiling and laughing and reminiscing about holidays past.

Holidays now are about splintered families, disagreements, the homeless population looking to keep warm, children searching for an identity, everyone looking for love and acceptance.

It is about gadgets and disposable items, even people today are throwaways. It's about the lonely, the elderly, the disenfranchised and the poor. It's funny we only remember those less fortunate once a year at Thanksgiving and at Christmas. What happens the other 363 days of the year. Society turns a blind eye to these people. Do these people have another 363 days to live without food, or shelter. Many will say send them to their local social service office for their needs. I say we are our brothers keeper. That is why I look for January to appear on my calendar, and breathe a sigh of relief that the "holidays" have come and gone.
Wow .... Am going out on the limb here ... but am going to wish you a Merry Christmas!

Yes, Christmas has become so commercialized now, it's true meaning forgotten.😔✨💙
