I'm in the mood for some Golden Oldies from my country. This song is from 1961 and it's called "Il cielo in una stanza" that translates as "The sky in a room". In the Italian lyrics there is a particular phrase: "il soffitto viola". That translates as "the violet ceiling". The author of the song wrote the lyrics about a real encounter he had with a prostitute and her room had a violet ceiling.
The lyrics are beyond beautiful. They go on to say that the violet ceiling dissapeared , because of the immensity between the two during the encounter, that became the sky above.
