I I'M Listening To This
I'm in the mood for some Golden Oldies from my country.
This song is from 1961 and it's called "Il cielo in una stanza" that translates as "The sky in a room".
In the Italian lyrics there is a particular phrase: "il soffitto viola". That translates as "the violet ceiling". The author of the song wrote the lyrics about a real encounter he had with a prostitute and her room had a violet ceiling.
The lyrics are beyond beautiful. They go on to say that the violet ceiling dissapeared , because of the immensity between the two during the encounter, that became the sky above.
It's truly beautiful poetic lyrics in Italian.
