I Want To Tell You What I'M Doing Today

Visiting my parents, who live 650 miles away from me. My mom was diagnosed with cancer about a month ago, only the specific diagnosis keeps shifting.

My aunt is here too. Now, don't get me wrong - I love my parents and my aunt. But I forgot something crucial: for that generation in my family, the favorite hobby is ranting about how bad everything in the world is. And they get loud.

I really just wanted to hang out with my mom and have some quiet quality time.

Luckily, I have an iPhone full of music and noise-cancelling earbuds. And I found where they keep the gin.

Ugh. Sorry, Kat. That generation in my family usually talks about their ailments. Hang in there and have a g&t for me!

Come on, aren't you at an age where you can join in?
(it's one of my favourite past times too).

As coping mechanisms go, those aren't bad. :-) Hang in there. --DW

Make them aware that you are indeed NEVER in the mood for bullshit. 😂
(And best of luck with your mom)
