I Value My Solitude

“No one ever needs to be alone so long as they don’t mind who they are with, but we do mind...the wrong kind of company is a great deal lonelier than us being by ourselves...it’s not that we have been rejected by the world, it’s that we’ve taken a good look at the available options, and have, with wisdom, done some rejecting ourselves.” ~ Alain De Botton

Just coming across your post on solitude dated from May. Couldn't agree more. Many people are uncomfortable to be alone. Perhaps they don't want to hear that inner voice of the soul?

It can be soul destroying to be alone for some. It was for me when I was young, but with age, and life experience, one can bear it with fortitude. I enjoy my solitude to a point, but not 24/7. However, rather alone than with the wrong people. @Freeranger

@Carissimi Hey friend, perhaps the message is, to help them see that they/we? have potential for an existence if, in letting ourselves out of that box, we let fresh air in through the help of others who are close enough to share how, that lonely individual might be seen. Or, am I diggin' a rut here babe...hah. If one can be shown, as you've stated thru life experience, a certain peasant's tenacity to get far enough thru those early years to that point where, they discover they have options then....all is possible is it not? At that point, when one's spine is stronger, they can offer answers to the question of the life complex. The late Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer produced a gorgeous live performance of possibilities for those willing to take certain chances

I don’t know about answering life’s questions, I personally have resigned myself to acceptance of what is. That’s all I have the energy for. I have no great wisdom to impart about existence. @Freeranger

@Carissimi and yet, solitude is a statement

If that’s your interpretation. @Freeranger
