I Got a Speeding Ticket
Two In Fact, But Long Ago... My first came during High School and qualifies as an embarrassing moment. I rolled into a speed trap at a school zone with a big display of your speed. I was doing 36 in a 25. Of course, I was just accelerating around a UPS truck when I came around the trees, but they are not concerned. Since I was under 18, I had to go to court. I also voluntarily took myself off driving for a month. When I went to court this wasn't long after the show Cops was introduced and I made the mistake of calling the police cops and royally pissed off the judge who proceeded to harangue me for 20 minutes.
The second was on a side street parallel to the expressway and at a light. To this day I don't believe I actually was speeding. He pulled me over moments after I accelerated from the newly green light. Now, I was driving a rickety '85 Chevy Cavalier with 2 L engine that was very tired by this stage of its life. So he basically was saying that I went to 40 mph in a matter of seconds. The car wasn't capable of that, not anymore if it ever was. But I was way too busy with school & work to contest, so I just paid the fine.
