I Lost My Grandmother

Thanksgiving Day 2014, my beautiful beloved grandmother passed day. It was the most devestating day of our lives. She was my daddy's mother. It still hurts that she isn't around anymore but she is no longer suffering. She had two strokes and got in a coma. My aunts and uncles all went to see her. At least they were all there and Grandma got to see all of her eight children. I was heartbroken that I could not make it to her memorial in Louisiana. I wasn't the only one that couldn't go. One of my aunt said, "You should have came. A lot of people were there." Plane tickets are expensive and I didn't have the money to go. I wish I could of. I blamed myself for not going but I shouldn't beat myself over it. It's the past. I was in my last week of school and was finals week. I was there in her spirit. Yesterday was her birthday and she would have been 79. RIP Grandma. Love you so much. 💔💔😢💖🎈

I can speak only for myself, but if my granddaughter were studying hard and taking finals to accomplish her dream and my dream for her, I would be intensely proud. If there is one single thing I am sure of, it is that the dead understand.

She knows everything you feel for her and would have scolded you for shirking your duties to attend her funeral.

@Mamapolo2016 Yeah I know what you mean. I wanted to go but my grandma would say, "You better not skip your finals. You better get it together, and work on your finals. I'm not about to have my granddaughter skip out on her education to attend my service." That's what I would hear her say.
She would have told me that.
