I Am On Medication

At my local pharmacy there are two people; myself and another woman, who keep on fighting over the same medicine...I am three days late for my injection, and I feel it....My heart keeps palpitating and I'm dizzy, so in otherwords my arrythmia is coming back and my hypotension is coming back without my meds...I got my injection on Septerber 18 which was my sisters birthday, and I'm supposed to get it every four weeks so my last injection would have been on October 16th so I should have gotten my injection on the 13th of this month. I called the pharmacy yesterday and they said I wasn't due until the 21st! Which was a mistake on their part, I was Due last Sunday! And now there is one needle at the pharmacy and two people are vying for it, I am late and another woman needs it too, it should have been mine since I was supposed to get it 3 days ago, and I'm feeling the effects of not having it....Now I have to wait for the pharmacy to call me back after contacting the other woman, who I think I know who it is.....There was one time six months ago when I was two weeks late for my injection I thought because of that time lapse that me and this other woman wouldn't be vying for the same medication that we were two weeks apart......I just hope I can get my medication today as I need it...

I went through this a lot with pain medication. The DEA has really clamped down on them and unfortunately legitimate patients are the ones that pay for it.

My advice, is to talk with your doctor. My doctor's assistant used to call around for me to find a pharmacy that had it, so I didn't have to go hunting.

I would also ask to talk personally with the pharmacist. Some medications, especially non-narcotic you might be able to get him to adjust his inventory levels so you aren't having this problem. I think it depends a lot on the pharmacy. Smaller ones tend to be more willing to do things like that.

And finally, can you get it via mail order? I get a Humira injection pen kit every month through a specialty pharmacy and they mail it right to my door in a cooler. I love it.
