"What about you, in Canada you definitely have legit winter :) ?"
I think we invented winter here in Canada! Thought we could make money off it, selling snow packed into little tin cans to unsuspecting Americans. We called it 'frozen fairy dust', but they wouldn't bite. They soon got suspicious of the cold cans. Their politicians made up a story and said we were trying to steal their land. Their women thought we were trying to trick their men into coming north of the border, never to return. So, they sent truckloads of our canned snow back to us and then tricked our women into coming south of the border. And when we got there, we did! And then their women reclaimed their men and chased us back home! 🤷🏼♀️
"Do you ever show your belly outside when it's cold?"
Only when I'm trying to load my skis onto the roof of my car! The first time I ever noticed this happening, was when I saw my own reflection in the glass of the driver's window while I was clipping the skis down!
"Would you like to give it a try to go for a short walk in winter with belly showing a little, just like in the pic in question?"
I've done this many times before. It's more about dressing for the environment that I will eventually end up living in during my day, than it is about how I should dress just because there's a foot of snow on the ground!
Using your picture as a reference, if my coat is open like the girl's coat is shown open, this would likely be the case of what someone would see of me as I stepped from a city taxi with my coat still unfastened. People don't expect to see my bare stomach showing as they walk past, because winter has got people conditioned to think within a certain 'box'. When it's hot outside, people think within a summer 'box'. But I really don't care what people think of my fashion choice for the time of year either!
When I'm in a clothing store trying on jeans in the middle of winter while wearing a short-shirt or short-sweater, the young women whom are there to assist customers, don't think its strange to see my partially bare abs or a summer-tanned strip of brown skin showing on my stomach as I stand there looking at myself in the mirror, while she kneels in front of me scrutinizing the way a Levi's waistband hangs from my hips!
I've never had to explain to any sales clerk 'why' my navel is exposed if I'm in her store in the middle of winter, but I've often been asked why my belly button suddenly changes shape if I angle my hips a certain way! I have had more questions about the fine platinum blonde peach fuzz on my skin, than I've ever been questioned about a partially bare belly in winter! The way I look at it, if the blonde peach fuzz on my skin matches my eyebrows and eyelashes as well, then I look coordinated summer and winter! lol!
