My own experience

At times in my life I harboured self hate. I didn’t like being Indigenous. The hate was compounded with being female. I was told by my dad, whilst growing up, that I needed to be better than (others) to be considered equal. I thought that was unfair. But he was right. That notion is still alive and well. It’s been tiring.
I also don’t get the benefit of the doubt, until I open my mouth and explain their own policies to them. No one likes to be shown up, especially a boss but whatever, I did it anyway. Got shown the door more than once and even by my own people. There’s so much reprogramming that needs to be done,
I’m also kinda peeved that BLM is so prominent right now, yet the First Nations are again left out and ignored.
I’m also not impressed that the NHLP decided not to boycott their games tonight, as the NBA and MLB players did. But why should they? They’re mostly white, they don’t really give a shit, it doesn’t affect them, their families, their communities. JMO.
