I am all for allowing US citizens to have representation in Congress. I am always surprised that those who oppose statehood for DC offer no solution to this most fundamental issue.And really, it is just because 51 isn't a round number.

@bijouxbroussard I’m sort of guessing but I think it’s based on the lower population of DC, in the 17 or 1800s.
