I Don't Let People Tell Me What to Do Or How to Run My Life

People= Tell others what to do.
Did you know that when you are around another, they will always tell you what to do?
When they speak they are indirectly telling you to listen.
When they ask a question they are indirectly telling you to respond.
Here’s the funniest part of all, we are like that ourselves.
Would competition matter if there was no one to impress?
Someone told us to do something, and we want to do it to earn their affection or admiration.
Imagine you and another person were the only ones in the area, and there was no one to impress other than your own selves.
No one watching.
What about jealousy?
We want the satisfaction or something another has that you perceive as getting them more satisfaction than what you have.
Again, what if there was no one to impress and there was only you and another person?
The funniest thing, is no one has any more satisfaction than another.
Whether you are rich or poor, you will always, I repeat, always... be told what to do.
When you refuse there is possible conflict unless a compromise of desires is found.
We have a desire but we ask, “What do you want to do?”
We can’t control another’s mind or their desires, even when they appear to do what we want.
We can’t control how others feel about us, we can’t control what people say about us behind our back, we can’t control people into feeling satisfied through our efforts, we can’t.
It is the expectation that we can that causes us emotional pain.
You can control how you feel about YOU.
Let nothing others think, say, or do surprise you anymore.
Wish others well while not letting what you perceive to be their lack of reciprocity affect you.
Haha and even in that I’m telling you what to do.
Humans... we just can’t help but tell others what to do, can we?
We are controlling and selfish beings looking to see, hear, smell, touch, and feel what brings us more pleasure than pain, or if we do willingly experience pain... for a greater pleasure in the perceived future.

@11knaves11 Thank you so much! So many of my acquaintances seem to not understand me, so it means a lot to me to find common ground on here! ❤️

@Specialyouare it makes perfect sense to me. It's a fair sociological theory
