I Want To Share My Feelings And Thoughts
I had my account here for awhile but I was going to wait for the site to be completely finished before using it. Instead of waiting I'd rather go ahead and get started again, I don't like to bottle up my thoughts and feelings for too long.
I made a pretty huge decision recently. On May 16th I swore into the United States Air Force. Ever since I was little I have wanted to go to the military, but recently I have been very confused on what branch I wanted to join. I looked into the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Guard. Air Force seemed to be the best one for me.
I still have one year of high school left. So I won't go to training until next summer. I am glad that I have a lot of time left, there is something else I am trying to do within that time, I will explain it in a future story.
I am glad I joined. Now I won't have to stay awake at night worrying about what I am going to do with my life. I still stay awake and worry sometimes, just not about that.
I feel kinda proud about joining. Only one person in my family has been in the military, it was one of my uncles. And technically he isn't in my bloodline. I am glad to be the one of the first people in my family to enlist. My family has a really dark history, I would like to change that. I am the only son my mom has.
My grandma doesn't seem to like my decision. But her opinion won't make me regret it. I am surprised she is upset about it, considering the fact that the majority of my family hasn't achieved anything in life. I'm not going to be one of them.
I was happy that my mom came to my swear in ceremony. I didn't think any of my family would care enough to come.
