A word to the wise: it is the function not the size of government that matters. A nation that is repelling an invasion would need a bigger government than a nation in peace time. A metropolitan area would need a bigger government than a rural town (due to a larger population and more congestion). The size of government is circumstantial; it is the function of government that we should concern ourselves with.
