I Like to Play Games

I do. Very much so.

I don't mean video games, either.
Nothing against them, more than one close person in my life is a gamer, + I have even enjoyed playing from time to time with friends, but they've never been much of an interest for me.

Games in general however, are a beloved hobby of mine. Games of all sorts, I collect them also as I will have a Games room in my Forever Home.

Board games are great.
So are playing cards. I always have a pack with me, and play various solitaire games often.

I like ancient board games, there is always strategy involved. Hnefatafl, Wei Qi, Senet are three I am involved in learning + playing currently.

I would like to get better at Chess.
I've always been good at Backgammon + Scrabble.

I have a dart board in my bedroom (eventually it will be in the games room I mentioned)

I keep a notebook with rules for certain solitaire games, or paper games- I have several of those.

Overall I think games are a wonderful aspect of life + don't relate them to childhood whatsoever. While children should play games, so should everyone else in my opinion. Age has nothing to do with it.

I am always grateful to discover a new game, so please feel free to share one with me, or your personal favorites.

We need to nurture the ludens in us, I believe it's highly important for the soul to stay young! :)

@Nobody37 In many aspects I agree. More so lively, excited and wide-eyed, but same idea. ☺

(I say that knowing it's often the old/ancient souls, like myself who recognize the importance in that) :)

@galacticexplorer We're human, our middle name is "contradictions" lol

I'm just often reminded by an interview with Brenda Romero, (who also desgined some board games.) A game designer who's in her early 50's now, but talks about games so passionately and eagerly still, in a way where you can see how it has kept her full of wonder and excitment. That's why I think it's important.

@Nobody37 I like that so much, I'm going to look her up!
