What do you think of Rapid Transformational therapy?

It's being marketed like crazy now, but I find it hard to believe something like that can exist. I personally don't believe in the legitimacy of hypnotherapy except it working as a placebo. Of course I could be wrong.
The way RTT is being advertised seems like a commercial scam move rather than a legit form of therapy. Even the testimonials under (probably paid) review videos etc seem..... Artificial.

I dont think placebo is quite the right word. Hypnotherapy can help reinforce desires already existant in the mind, sometimes - it helped me quit smoking after 30 years of heavy nicotine addiction. But it's far from a magic bullet. I havent seen any ads for this RTT so I'm not sure what they're pitching it at, but rapid anything is always pretty suspect, I feel.

@firefall wow that's impressive. How many sessions did it take?

Yeah the rapid part is totally sus. 🙄

@assemblingaknob just one session, but it was at the end of a day-long seminar on stopping, and after reading the book the seminar is set to reinforce (Allen Carr's Easy Way to stop smoking). Sorry if this sounds like a paid advertisement, but I'm still amazed it stuck after just the one day (Jan 6 2005, for what thats worth).

i suspect that any real long lasting change takes time. I however am no expert.
