I Am A Real Werewolf

Hello again. Trying to avoid spam... but I do have some thing I do want to bring up.
Lately there's been this trend, particularly on Amino, Instagram, Tumblr.
People are claiming werewolves and lycans are different. They are also claiming there are breeds like bloodchasers, fogbreathers, etc. Most of the info is on this page (https://theshapeshiftersof.tumblr.com/)
It has become quite the trend. Particularly the 'werewolf vs lycan' idea (they even go so far as to say werewolves and lycans have different genes).
I want to know (I personally, am challenging this, and don't believe this) if you agree with this, why or why not? What arguments would you use against this? What proof do you have that this is wrong?
Curious, as I am currently attempting to correct this issue on Amino right now.

I definitely do not agree with this (I in fact made a post debunking such claims a while back) and I don't know what they're experiencing, but that's not correct info. I think they got misinformed by some source-their leader, or the person who runs one of the help blogs did say they got it from an "older lycan" before they disappeared off the net, so I feel like they've been mislead in some form or fashion. But many of them tend to get offended and angry when they see someone else correcting them, so be careful.

Their information is demonstrably false, though. Some breeds are purely fictional (one of their breeds they listed is called the loup garou, but they cite the werewolves from Werewolf: The Apocalypse), the ones that aren't don't make any sense (such as Kynigoús Aímatos, a breed that is supposed to be created by hunters and have both wolf and vampire DNA, while needing blood to change back and forth) and a lot of information the leaders have given out reeks of recklessness, such as the idea that you know you've shifted when you wake up outside of your house, naked, or covered in blood. I believe there can be variances in breed, or what each can do, but they're just the breeds listed and known to mankind and others, such as the benandanti and faoladh werewolves, to name a few. Good luck with getting them to listen to you on that, though.

Not really.

For example. Where's your pack territory? Why has no one else ever heard of this? Do you know (literally any known alpha)? If not be surprised. If so ask why said alpha doesn't know them. Why do you have to be bloody and naked? Are you not aware of yourself in wolf form? Where does your pack originate from?

Very innocent but revealing questions. Makes them flounder and it's hard to keep up with the lies which makes it easier for people to see through the story.

@SheAngel19 Interesting. I've always combatted them with knowledge and they argue against it all too easily. I'll have to try this.

Omg lmao so I just checked out the YouTube channel and the tumblr. It's hilarious. Like the elk hunting. So I'm guessing this little girl lives in my neck of the woods because I live very close to where she is talking about.

And gods the typos and bad information is overwhelming. Plus she's a child. Lol who actually believes this shit? Bunch of angsty tweens wearing too much eyeliner and collars. Smh.
Oh yay, the First Family pack.
The main reason why people tend to say werewolves and lycans are different breeds is because they mean to say that werewolves are the hollywood monsters and lycans are neutral shapeshifters. Same for when people talk about werewolves and wolfbloods. Basically the same creature but they don't want to be seen as a murdering monster (but seriously I've never met anyone who assumed I was a mindless monster when I said I'm a werewolf). They want to make it less confusing but they only make it worse.
Were-wolf literally means man-wolf, so in fact there's nothing evil linked to the word. To legends yes but not the sole word...

"A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope, is a human with the abiltiy to become a wolf or a wolf-like creature."
Lycan is short for Lycanthrope which is Greek for "Wolf Man". Basically it's just another name for Werewolf. There is no difference.

@Qwerty14 Agreed. But I see a trend of differentiating the two lately.
@wolfess Yeah I think it is just thanks to recent movies depicting werewolves transforming at will instead of the more campy "only on the night of a full moon". Specifically the movie series Underworld. Still they aren't different.

@Qwerty14 I know.

What is amino? And tumblr is the LEAST likely place for credible information tbh.

@SheAngel19 Amino is an app that has a lot of supernatural/were people on it. It seems that's where some went after EP shut down.
