What exactly does the term "voter suppression" mean?

In 2020, at my place of voting all I had to do was walk in, give them my name, they find it in a book, I sign my name on the line in the book, then I go to the booth to vote.

I think I read about them wanting us to show photo ID. I'm actually surprised we don't have to show photo ID. Closing the voter places earlier just so certain people can't vote, is wrong.

Every state is different which is why federal legislation is in order. Not everyone has photo ID and it's hard to get for some. The states that require it aren't doing so to address voter fraud. They're doing it to disenfranchise people. It's an absolute non-issue anyway. We've never had widespread voter fraud for any national election. It's a made up boogie man designed by the GOP to create an unlevel playing field. That's clear given their stance on the voting rights bill. They do not want to make it easier for people to vote.
