I Was Just Thinking

Moments in Time:
Many years ago, when driving to my Army Reserve station, I would pass an elderly black gentleman who was always... no matter what time of day, was sitting by the side of the road and would always wave at us as we passed. He was very consistent, he was always there, always smiling and waving. We even once thought of coming by as a group and presenting him a certificate, but we never made the time to do such a thing. Still, he was such a fixture of that road.
Years later, he's no longer there, and I'm no longer going to the unit regularly. However, every time I pass that point of the road, I remember him there. It never leaves my memory.

These random people are quite an aid, atleast to me, in the process of counting my blessings! I have a couple of ladies n old men in my memory, now that am reading your experience. The contentment on their face glows sharing blessings each time we cross path.

Thanks for directing to your page.

Yes... pretty much. It's impossible not to notice, and I remember it all these years. I posted this as a response on JustNik's similar story, in I Was Just Thinking

Actually... maybe true, but it was in passing. I never met him and I regret that to this day.

A good memory to have. You made him happy and he made you happy.
