41 years ago we got a taste of...

...the awesome power of nature. On this date in 1980 Mt. St. Helens erupted. I was in Washington state in Spokane when she blew!
Like the old margarine commercial lamented...”it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature!”

I was 6 and lived in Coeur d'Alene.
But at the time of the erruption we were down in Lewiston.
I had no idea what was going on. It was so exciting and mysterious.

Wow! I was in Italy and had no idea that it had happened. Just saw a paper with the headline, "Catastrophy in America" and a mushroom cloud under it!
