I Have a Difficult Decision to Make

Right, I'm hoping you good people can help here. I've just got in trouble today for setting fire to the grill (and half the kitchen) because I was messing around on my phone instead of keeping an eye on the lamb chops. I've ended up being grounded for 10 days (which is a story in itself, for anyone who knows me!)

Anyway, I've got a steaming hot date on Friday, and I can't be grounded and miss out. So I have a cunning plan. I could plead with my parents to let me out, in exchange for surrendering my phone. But what they don't know is I have a spare, old phone that this SIM card fits. So all I need to do is remove the SIM card before surrendering it.

What would you do? Accept the grounding and miss out on Friday? Or be sneaky and surrender my phone. The only negative, is if I get caught out with the old phone, I'll probably be killed, then brought back to life to be killed again!

You set the kitchen on fire. 10 days is pretty good. And you still have your phone. Be happy and take your pittance of a punishment.
If your date is really worth it, they will be around next friday.

@TwiddlerofThumbs Well, what we thought was damaged wasn't, and I've cleaned it up, and there's no damage. It was just the fat that caught alight.

@KatyB So, did they adjust your punishment? If not, it doesn't matter, does it? Your parents are trying to teach you to be responsible for your actions. Clearly, the lesson doesn't seem to be sinking in. Lol.

@SW-User I've asked the question, argued about how losing my phone would (a) kill me, and (b) be more appropriate in the circumstances. Explained about my date, blah blah. Upshot, they have my phone! Now just not to get caught on this one!!

@KatyB lol. Don't you understand the more you argue the deeper the hole you're digging for yourself? They'll give you more leeway when you start acting responsibly. Nothing else you say or do will make a dent.

Won't the guy understand and wait until next weekend? He might like "the bad girl" who gets into trouble image.

Nah, I know his ex, and she's really sweet. If he knew some of the stuff I've done in the past, he'd probably run a mile!!
