I Like Guns [Pro Gun]

Just glanced through an article on homemade black powder interesting idea. Powdered sugar in black powder, I never would have guessed that but I like the idea. Accessibility 馃憤
Mix together one-part saltpeter with one-part powdered sugar. This will give you a crude form of gunpowder. Real gunpowder contains saltpeter, sulfur, and charcoal. However, this home recipe should be more than enough for all your pyromaniacal needs
I don鈥檛 think I鈥檇 want to use it save for in an emergency... but it鈥檚 theoretically possible.

@2cool4school I meant powdered sugar as a binder. For the proper ingredients, but have since learned that many people use baked cornstarch as a binder as opposed to dextrin

@Powderflask hmm ok 馃憣

The powdered sugar will leave a residue that is almost impossible to remove from your barrel.
Just bear it in mind.

@xixgun I agree you'd have to scrub the barrel but it is a natural binder instead of buying dextrin

You'll need salpeter, very dry charcoal, and sulphur, to make gun powder.
Please be careful.

@helenS I do appreciate the concern, I have made it a good number of times, but I was not aware that powdered sugar would work as a binder instead of dextrin.

@Powderflask I have made firecrackers many times, using DIY powder, but I have never used a binder.

@helenS that sounds really cool actually. Gun meal would create different pressures in firearms because of burn rates. But I got into it because my local Gun store didn't sell black powder year round.
