I Sunburn Really Easily

I live in Scotland and we don't get a lot of sunshine very often. When we do, it's very cloudy so the sun isn't so bad and we don't experience a lot of heat here either.

Yesterday, it was scorching hot and the sun was so intense suddenly! And of course, of all days, my workplace decided it would be great for me to work on my clients outdoors rather than inside.

Needless to say, my sensitive skin took to it very badly and now I'm sunburned.

My doctor said it would be best for my skin if I wore suncream all year round rather than just in hotter seasons. Personally, I don't wear it as often as I should but I really need to start listening to my doctor because this just hurts, haha!

I understand that Scots in general, are fair skinned with ginger hair, the sun is not too friendly with them. I am part Scots, but fortunately fair pretty well in the sun, partly because I work predominantly outside. I sympathise with you honey, because I have suffered sunburn in the past.

@Uncfred: I do have very sensitive and pale skin but my hair is brown. Although I have blue eyes too. A lot of my family has ginger hair though and sometimes when the sun hits my hair you can see some strands of hair that look almost ginger. So I guess that could be why I'm so sensitive to the sun haha. It's alright I suppose though since we don't get a lot of suns here. Ironically, the area I grew up in translates from Gaelic to "sunny place". Which is ridiculous since it's notorious for its rain.

@MysticMermaid456: Though there is Scottish blood in my family, my son is three times removed, in the right light he has red in his hair and is fair skinned. He was born in the south of England, to an Essex mother, but still the gene carries through to his son.

I wish your son and grandson all the health and happiness. It's amazing how powerful genes can be. I find that so fascinating!

@TheNightKing: Maybe it was just the time of year. It was such a beautiful place when I visited.

@UnrestrictedHappy: Haha It might've just have been the time of year I guess. It was the middle of Summer when I visited. It was gorgeous when I was there.

@MysticMermaid456: that area of the UK is very beautiful :). I do however think there isn't a massive difference between England and Scotland or Wales in regards to weather
