And of course, as with any 6 word slogan its naïve balderdash. British patriotism 1914- racist? Soviet patriotism 1941-1980 - racist? Syrian patriotism 2009-17 racist? Israeli patriotism 1947-2017 racist? Mexican patriotism 2017 - racist? Chinese patriotism over Taiwan - racist? For the idiots of the world, racism has become the idiotic catch-all phrase for anything they don't agree with.

@offingg: If you re-read what you wrote, you will see that it is totally incoherent and without any perceptible logic. Your naivety clearly prevented you from understanding my clear message: patriotism is NOT racism. The current definition of racism is considering another human to be lesser than you because of their skin colour or ethnic features. Patriotism is love of country. The conflation of the two in a 6 word absolutist slogan is beyond blindingly stupid. It is bigoted in the extreme.

@Auberon89: There is a delightful aphorism "Never argue with fools: first they drag you down to their level, then beat you on experience" However, ignoring that good advice, I will merely point out the banners say, without ANY qualification YOUR RACISM IS PATRIOTISM. It allows for no other logical corollary other than patriotism is racism. And by the way, please don't infer outrage on my part. I am merely pointing out the obvious - the empty sloganeering of the banner-carrying bimbo. Now get outraged at that!

What you're doing here has the appearance of someone deeply insecure misinterpreting the words and positions of others in order to frame an argument in fallacious terms that allow one to claim unearned intellectual or moral superiority. "Your" strongly implies specificity in the example above since it links the patriotism being criticized with particular unnamed subjects rather than rendering a blanket criticism of patriotism as a concept. In order for your argument to apply, the sign would have to either read "all patriotism is racism" or even simply "patriotism is racism". Your claim of there being no other "logical corollary" is unsupported and seems to be driven more by a need to erroneously cast people with whom you disagree as intellectually inferior rather than a sincere attempt at critical thought.
