I Dont Think People Should Vote For Politicians Who Are Idiots

I went to a lecture this evening that my local Green Party was organising and it was really interesting and actually more people than I expected were there. There were some local councillors too, two of which were conservatives who’ve apparently been on the city council for a very long time
So I was listening closely to what they said in the discussion after cuz like, they’re elected councillors, they must have some idea what they’re talking about. But they seemed more like they were irritated about not enough people engaging with council actions and things than the actual topics and then one of them made a point that ‘if people really cared about climate change, they should get off their backsides and do something about it’. 🤔you were literally elected to do something about it you twit🤔

ugh it just irritates me. If all councillors are like the councillors that turned up there then I understand why nothing ever seems to get done 🙄
