I Have Something to Say

[c=#BF6900]I sat here going through some posts & comments last night.
I try to be kind to everyone. If I disagree with something they have said or done, I can do so in a civil, polite way.
Why do some take it upon themselves to go out of their way to be rude to others?!
I had a horrible comment on one of my recent posts, where the person chose to curse & be condescending. My first reaction was to fire right back at him. What did I have to lose? I don't know him & have never seen him before!
But, I thought twice & decided that I would not stoop to his level. Sure, go ahead & be rude & nasty towards me, put me down. If it makes you feel better, go for it. I hope it has helped you to feel better & sleep well.
I am thankful that for the most part, I've come across some great people here. And, I remember that not all are the same, so don't assume or base all on one bad apple! 🍎
That's my thought for Friday! Stay happy & blessed!

You're a good person and didn't deserve to have this happen to you and your initial reaction certainly is understandable. My instinct is to strike back too, but I try to take your approach and not respond in kind to such provocations. What I might do, if it's nasty comments on my post and not comments directed at me on someone else's post, is delete their comments. I simply won't tolerate someone polluting my posts with a lot of ugliness. Fortunately, I haven't had to do that very often as most people are polite and respectful on the things I've posted.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Rutterman I guess it is probably human nature to want to strike back. Luckily, I usually think twice before actually hitting send or replying. I have always tried treating others as I'd like to be treated. It's a shame some do not feel the same. I wonder how they would like people to treat them the way they treat others. Thank you for such a kind comment. I really appreciate your friendship.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@JerseyGal I'm sure most of these people would not want to be treated the way they treat others. You're very nice and I have no doubt that you do your best to treat others as you'd like to be treated. I try to do the same.

I'm very happy that we've become friends. 🤗
veeceekay1991 · 31-35, F
Some people have never learned to disagree in an agreeable way. And, unfortunately, they feel empowered by the relative anonymity of the Internet to say whatever comes into their small minds.

Don't let it discourage you. There are still many fine people on this site. 🙂
@veeceekay1991 Very well put.
Peaches · F
I KNOW?!😕I guess they can't say what they want to people in person so they take it out on others here! I usually delete their rude comments and move on, but sometimes I tell them off...depends on the mood I'm in.😉You did good, thanks for posting this.⭐
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Peaches Thanks so much my friend. I appreciate this. Sometimes, I want to be rude back. But then, my heart stops me because that's not the person I am and how I want to portray myself. 🤗☮
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
@JerseyGal While I am not that way normally, if they piss me off, then all bets are off and I don't really care. Of course, I do it in a nice or sarcastic way... lol
I agree with what you did. Never take anything personal. It is the other person with the problem. Ignore it AND wish them the best.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@RenaissanceMan Thank you. Sometimes it is hard not to take it personal. But, I'm not and moving on.
Imaginethat · 61-69, M
That is a great way to approach it. No need for people to be rude & condescending, but it must fuel some need in them to minimize others.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Imaginethat I agree. In some way, it must fuel them. I am guessing it does so when people choose to go back & forth with them.
Some people here are so mean 😑 sorry you had to experience that. I'm not afraid to block rude people anymore 😁
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Dewms Some people really are so mean. Some are downright rude and nasty. Thank you :) I haven't had to block many, but I sure am learning not to put up with their rudeness and if that means blocking them, then that's what I'll do. :D
Peaches · F
@JerseyGal That's what I do too.😒
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
Sorry you experienced that, it's not logical or fair! Some users are ones that I completely avoid because they turn an argument into a personal attack and have to have the last word, so it's no use responding to them. And frankly, I don't want to waste on Block on their ass.
Peaches · F
@JerseyGal I agree.
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
@JerseyGal @Peaches You're both right. Blocking is the only logical solution!
@CoffeeFirst I don't bother blocking anyone - they'll just make a new profile.
SW-User
Why? Well... the anonymity of online allows for a lot of back character traits, without any consequences. Rudeness, crudeness, bullying, meanheartedness... all exposed on SW and online chats.
... that said... I admit I do react when someone is rude to me online... even if I shouldn't cause it's meaningless.
SagePoet · 61-69, M
Sorry my friend about the rude post. Some people are like that. And it's sad. It's good that you posted here as you did, as you are far better than they are.
SagePoet · 61-69, M
good for you, you rose above it, didn't get stuck in it 🤗@JerseyGal
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@SagePoet 🤗
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@SagePoet I like these cute little hug guys. Just saying!lol
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@questionWeaver Good morning qW!

It is the mark of a mature intelligent person to digress from such low vibrations. 🌻I don't always suceed in not firing back. ..but you are always lovely. :)
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@SW-User I thank you very much for such kind words. Sometimes it is not easy to not fire back. I just try to remember how I'd like to be treated before saying anything. ☺💐
SW-User
@JerseyGal you're welcome🤗 I understand.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@SW-User 🤗
masterofyou · 70-79, M
I apologize for all those bad apples that are rude and treat you with disrespect... I know you did the right thing.. Always rise above the gutter snipes, and move on.. Again I'm sorry that happened to you...
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@masterofyou You have always been nothing but respectful and considerate to me, my friend. Thank you for that! ☺
goneeee · F
Those are the types who also boast about being good people themselves. I've seen it and just ignore the best I can.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@goneeee If they consider that as being good people, they need to take a good, long look at themselves & think again. 🙂
Peaches · F
@goneeee Very true.
RoadieJay · 61-69, M
I really don't like trolls - people who are rude just to start an argument
Peaches · F
@RoadieJay And there's so many of them!!!👎🏼😠
RoadieJay · 61-69, M
@Peaches I know!
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@RoadieJay Sadly, that's the main purpose of some here.
xbandoleerx · 56-60, M
I choose to report on such people without reacting to their insinuating behavior. They have to be identified.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@xbandoleerx I reported them. There's really no need for such rudeness to others. Thank you!
SW-User
Well I think your awesome! Who cares what some shmuck that doesn't know you has to say. It's only the internet. That was wrong for him to be like that, but people like that are always going to cry about their right to their opinion, but it's truly sad that they have to go about it in an immature and crude way. That guy would probably never say that to your face, because you'd probably slap the shit of him! :)
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@SW-User Thanks so much, my friend. I truly appreciate you saying this. You're pretty awesome yourself. Glad to have you as my friend all these years!
LOL, I doubt that I'd slap the shit out of him. But, he's the type I'd never be around to begin with. ☺
SW-User
👍😆🙂
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
Sad that some have to be disrespectful. You took the high road. Good for you!!! 😘
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Ambroseguy80 It is a shame. I wish no ill towards him or anyone who acts this way. But, I do choose no further interact with them. 😘
jim44444 · 70-79, M
Some people are just damaged. It is best not to engage with them.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@jim44444 I've been learning that lately.
They're everywhere. ..just move on and be glad you're not them :)
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@sunnydreams I am so very glad! 😊
Beachlover · M
Most people who have to resort to rudeness and become condescending and use rude language, show they very little idea about what they disagreeing about and are on here to target certain people to cause trouble , those people are not worth wasting breath on, and you having handled it as you have shows your strength of character.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Beachlover Thank you for this. I have really held back from saying anything negative to this person. Not because I do not want to, but I'm doing it for myself. 🙂
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
It easier to turn the other cheek
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@FreeSpirit1 For me, it's definitely better.

[@Beetlegeuse] You're right. It goes for many things, both online and in real. To treat others with disrespect is uncalled for. I sure do not need anyone like that in my life.
Runningwolves · 61-69, M
Yeah... keep your dignity in tact... I'll slam em for ya.... after all I'm a deplorable bwahahahaha

@imLobo I agree. I feel that people should stand up that way!
Lostpoet · M
People are rude and this guy is obviously a jerk. I can't believe anyone that sees your avatar wouldn't think twice before posting something crude.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@Lostpoet Unfortunately on here & just about everywhere, some people just do not care. I've found it's up to me though not to lash out or stoop to their level. 😌
Nice though and the sensible way to react. Some are rude just to get a bad reaction from others because it amuses them.
SW-User
This is very well put... and frankly I could use some of that thinking myself.
JerseyGal · 51-55, F
@SW-User Thank you. I think many of us could use this thinking!
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M

@PhoenixPhail Thank you. I really believe in these words.
@JerseyGal You're welcome. I believe in these words too, but they do escape me sometimes when I get cranky.

@VeronicaJane Thank you. Yes, it is hard to practice. I'm going to continue trying my best though. 🙂
