@LynnUK Smoking increases the cost of medical care since it increases the likelihood of emphysema, congestive obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and even lung cancer. This medical care is costly. These diseases are largely incurable meaning that care will be required until the patient dies. Living longer for us relative healthy people means delaying any end-of-life ailments rather than increasing costs since preventive care is relatively inexpensive as medical costs go. If we could discourage known causes of incurable diseases such as cancers all of us could enjoy lower health care costs. I think that way of thinking is the substance of health care providers and governments.

and all the lost tax's from the exsmokers, from the people who used to be employed in the tobacco industries are now heaped on us with bonus's,
butam not going too explain my intoxicated ramblings whith out a drink lol

@LynnUK Pop the cork. American tobacco companies have diversified. Growing industries have provided opportunities for such new avenues such as solar energy, communication technologies and medical instrumentation. Our economy is indeed better without tobacco as are the companies that were dependent upon tobacco in the past.

@LynnUK good for you about never smoking . I wish I could say the same, I only quit 6 years ago.

@LynnUK working on the basis that at least 9 out of every 10 things Trump says are either lies or childish gibberish, I'll discount anything he says about the issue . Smoking is a pointless road to ruin, so glad I got out. Night night
