Raising Monarch butterflies….

Last summer I was able to raise a few Monarch butterflies to help preserve the Monarch population. Hoping to have the opportunity tondi it again this year.

What a wonderful thing to do. Someone in the household of my first next door neighbors here did that, and I often see Monarchs in my backyard...still. They love the little flowers that grow on the weeds that are part of my 'lawn', and some other flowering plants there.

I really enjoyed this book, in spite of the sad parts. I learned a lot about Monarch butterflies in it:

@Piper I’m definitely going to read that book. I’m so happy that you enjoy the Monarchs in your yard. Regardless of if I can raise them or not this year, I’m definitely planting milkweed to hopefully help the wild ones out.

@WanderingThrough You've inspired me to try again with some 'butterfly plants'. In the past they haven't thrived where I've planted them, but maybe I'll have better luck keeping them alive this time. :)
